Our Story

Nearly 2000 years ago, Lucius Septimius Severus became Rome's first African Emperor, ushering in the Severan Dynasty. Starting his career at the bottom of the senatorial order, he moved with force and determination through the ranks, achieving hard-won campaigns in Africa and Britain.

The endeavours of the dynasty inspired today's creation of Severan Black Label Blanc de Blancs Brut: a tribute to the triumphs and legacies that have shaped us.

Our unwavering commitment to excellence resonates in each bottle of our traditional method, single-vintage Blanc de blancs. Crafted exclusively from Chardonnay grapes, our wine undergoes a second fermentation and ages on lees for two and a half years.

Severan, just like our founder Dumi Oburota, was born in Africa and made in Britain.
